If you go to the very bottom of the forum, look for a message called "white spacer" dated 9/19/99. Read the follow up from Bruce Clark, there is a link to his home page. There, he gives detailed instructions on how to do the adjustments. He also explains why you should do it. I also purchased the slash cut. It looks very cool!
